The American Bundestag Network (ABN) is thrilled to announce an alumni conference in partnership with the Cultural Vistas/Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Alumni Association (CBYXAA) as an initiative of Deutschlandjahr – Wunderbar Together from May 1^st – 4^th, 2019. The general agenda is:

May 1 – Arrival, evening welcome reception with German Embassy representatives, MdBs and other notable transatlantic guests (expected start time: 6:00 PM)

May 2 – The Transatlantic Relationship Today: Panel discussions and workshops at the German Embassy with political and think-tank guests

May 3 – Citizen Diplomacy as Alumni: Panel discussions and workshops with DAAD, Fulbright and other alumni representatives at the conference hotel. Evening reunion activities (start brainstorming and planning with your fellow alumni!)

May 4 – ABN and CBYXAA membership meetings, ABN officer elections (at Cultural Vistas DC office), departure around 2 PM. 

Registration is now live! The cost is $50 for non-students, with a reduced rate of $35 for
currently-enrolled students.

A block of rooms for out of town alumni at $240 (single) and $269 (double occupancy) has been reserved at the Washington Plaza Hotel and can be accessed by clicking here. The deadline to reserve these rooms has passed, but you may still be able to find reasonable accommodations at this hotel or elsewhere. 

Good news! The Bundestag has graciously provided funding to encourage alumni outside of the DC area to attend. For ABN members, we are able to reimburse transportation costs to DC (up to $500) and hotel costs (double occupancy, so bring an alumni roommate along or we’ll help find roommate pairs!) for the evenings of May 1 – 3 upon presentation of the appropriate receipts. CBYXAA/PPP may also be eligible for such reimbursements.
